Introduction
I’ve said of Louisville in this current moment, “It’s like living in the crevice of a heartbreak.” And these essays are love letters to a city in need of healing and wholeness. As protestors in the streets said the name of Breonna Taylor this past summer, I asked these Louisville writers to invoke the names, fears, and hopes on their tongues and in their hearts in essays about what it means to be a Louisvillian in this specific moment. What you find here might feel familiar. Might feel like home.
